hi everyone!

happy easter! i have a lot of chocolate from people but i can't eat it 'coz i'm on a no-chocolate diet 'coz i'm very fat now (this doesn't extend to coco pops haha they are AWESOME).

where have you all gone?? i want to know about your lives ):

i'm back on the 24th of may, so i'm good for an early june outing (though i suggest the big outing be end june/early july 'coz jasline doesn't get back 'til around the 20th). tiny outings are good for me though. also i need to get a job, if you know anyone who needs to... fix their computer or do simple programming/databasing work pls tell me hahaha. I NEED MONEY.

moving out is going to be hell, i end exams 3 days before i'm leaving and i'm storing stuff in my friend's house but she doesn't end until the day before i'm leaving, so i'll have to get all my friends to come round for a "party" which involves just... carrying my stuff to her place. i've already started packing to come home though. if you want anything tell me! though if it's not small i can't guarantee i can get it for you.

i need to go and study soon, but PLEASE POST MORE. and if you're applying to uni and you're considering overseas please consider edinburgh, it's really a super awesome place. except it's sunny today and that makes it hot and it's not meant to be hot here 'coz it's still 12 degrees-ish. but it's hot. i hate it lol.

i think i've really overstayed my time in nyco!! i can't believe i'm a j3 and i was playing with sec1s on stage. i don't think i'll ever play in another school CO concert though. well at least not in nyco's, i don't really plan on joining alumni again. i have so many enthu juniors i think they'll do fine (: and i really really have to stop going back to nyco!! i am so old!! even though i love them!! ):

anyway their concert was fantabulous (funtabulous? is that what you say when you're combining fun and fantabulous?) and even during the rehearsal when huiling and i were playing the linlao dazu songs for the first time it was awesome fun, even though we were dying and the kids from other schools who were watching were probably like o-m-g EPIC FAIL. yeah the orch was pretty good though, the concert was better than the rehearsal and 10000000000x better than pracs!!! the seniors were quite worried about them but looks like they turned out fine (: the xianyue items were awesome! we were scared seniors then we were happy seniors :D

i hope my juniors join hcco! the nycoxyz juniors are supercute!! and hungry!! hungry juniors are juniors with Great Potential. hccoxyz needs MORE NANYANG GIRLS. they are awesome. even though sometimes boys are useful too (e.g. if you need to move things) haha crap i feel so old. so sad!

the hcco juniors gave me flowers! and WONG COCO. and TOBLERONE! then they called me a fake nanyang girl ): i am not a fake nanyang girl okay i am a RESPECTED MEMBER OF SOCIETY! and a speedy changer haha! AND limqing gave me a sock! with stuff in it! haha! she was awesome awesome awesome i bet her diyierhu could beat mine if she played it with her eyes closed. oh well pro juniors are good for hcco!

okay um i am proud to say i have a life other than going back to COs that i graduated from years ago and helping source for uniforms so... i have work to do hahaha hongfei jiayou with the hcco alumni but try not to have it approved too early! i've been overloaded with CO for a long time now, maybe a performance next july would be good for us haha! NYCO PEOPLE IF YOU READ THIS JOIN HCCO!!

anw! xianyue peeeeps! just to update u all on wads going on, we j3s (2008 for reference in case this blog becomes dormant for quite a while) are setting up a Alumni CO =D hahaha i knoe it might remind quite a number of us about a particular VCH concert quite some time ago, but hey! do show support by joining yea! nth can happen without the support and participation from snrs as well as jnrs who will be joining us in the future (right? i hope XD)

Anw just to kick start the whole thing, there's gonna be a proposed concert in early september!! woots. i know the timeline is crazy and packed. bt then its to take into consideration ppl entering overseas uni yea? haha it's also to like let ppl knoe that alumni co exists. a publication concert la. not many big and grand pieces bt most of them u all will be really familiar. Pracs will be on Sats 9-12pm! Planning to start on 19th after nyco concert so the gals can be joining us.

with all that said! DO GIVE US THE SUPPORT AND MORE IMPTLY THE MEMBERSHIP yea???

Actually juz felt like posting lol.

Well, CO concert '08 has just rounded the corner. Magnificent job done jnrs! U guys rocked SCH once again. Seeing so many of the jnrs whom i thought were timorous and natural stage freaks actually presented themselves with so so much aplomb was really heartening. The only part lacking was the HCCO tradition of people having tendency to undress particular personnels after such a memorable event. A bit of a disappointment there =P

BUT seriously la. I know EVERYONE has this feeling inside on that nite and maybe even now.
WHY THE HELL IS THE SECURITY SO F-ed UP!!? pardon the profanities. but seriously la! wtf is wrong with going up the stage with a bouquet of flowers for the lead performer for qizou?? and WHERE ON EARTH can u find danger in us going backstage trying to mingle around with jnrs and handing them some gifts personally.. so infuriating that towards the back some of us just wanted to try to piss the people off. haha we did. rox. screw SCH. where are the times when we could literally infest the stage. Are those times no more? forever?

Why couldnt we end on a higher note. I wonder what would have happened if we REALLY brought cardboards into the hall and waved it around. guess they would have treated it as a highly ingenious rendition of WMD out to wipe out the inconspicuous spot of Singapore =.=

nevertheless kudos to the jnrs! we see GWH emanating its glory in our direction for the third consecutive time! JIAYOU

Hearing the recording made me laugh because if you concentrate very hard, after Czardas, you can hear someone shouting something that vaguely sounds like "XIANYUE ROCKS" and the audience audibly murmuring and laughing. ^^;;

Just came back from camp and happened to be bo liao and googled "hcco concert". Here are some comments by audiences that i really felt touched reading them and wanted to share.

"One thing I like about CO concerts is that I like it when they blast into my ears! The feeling damn shuang. It's like the whole orchestra so powerful and they are like, so hyper! Those kind of feeling, is damn nice."

"I've to say that HCCO really lives up to their Gold with Honours la. "

"The xyz kinda impressed me with some nice passages.XYZ ensemble was cute hahha. And they sounded nice together"

"anw the pieces were all very nice!for the combined ones i like da di the most!"

"and the conductor was like a happy old man! at times he looked like he was about to fly. at times he was like a robot. in short, he was like a happy flying old male robot."

Anyway really good job jnrs. You have created a good history for yourselves and brought back good memories of ours... Hope that the concert has brought smiles and will bring smiles to your faces whenever you think of it in the future. :)

and then i had to dabao some nasty tasting chicken cutlet back home n eat alone. so poor thing!

sooo! i said alr unless they go eat or else no flowers for the 24 of them! tts tt. set.

ok aniwae to pipe up tis area i pop in tis post since i went back today to c c hcco cos tis will prob be the last time i go before the concert itself. was wanting to go support support. oh wells. dun haf time alr!! live firing on saturday!!!

Charity concert on 25^th of August, this Saturday. Tickets are at $10 each. It is at NY audi and the performance is put up by most prize winners from the NAC competition. If you want to come please inform me by tomorrow (21^st August) night latest! Thank youuu!

so a few years from here, like wenqi said, when we no longer know the hcco that we used to, things will never be the same. qinggongyan was prolly the last time we'll be so 'zi zai' in each other's presence, with no gu1 ji4 at all. just be yourself. a few years later, it won't be the same, we might feel strange in each other's presence for a while, but i'm sure we'll find the same old, familiar gan jue back soon enough within that same gathering. need some warming up before that eh? and when the warming's up done, we'll enjoy each other's presence as much as we have tonight.

they say it isn't over until the fat lady sings.

we don't really have a fat lady, but these two days i've been hearing mao sing the gatsby song a lot - i think that's the closest we've got to a flashing neon sign going "MOVE OVER, YOUR TIME IS UP".

and it is.

j2s - we came, we saw, we conquered. but now what? we've done all we can for HCCO. they don't need us anymore. it's time to let go... our CO doesn't need more supervisors or directors or whatever new titles they can think up.

it's hard to relax your grip on something that's so close to your heart. leaving HCCO is like saying goodbye to your parents at your first day at school - except they'll never come back and bring you home. it's like packing your bags and walking out of your home because you don't have money to pay the rent. but sometimes you just have to try to ignore the pain and unclench your fists, before someone else pries your fingers off them.

there are great things in life. there are greater things in life. there are things in life you just have to experience to understand - co is one of them.

but so are many other things.

it's always better to read about what fun we've had and all the things we've done; to reminisce and think about the past instead of the future. it's sad and cruel to blog about moving on instead of holding on to memories. are they mutually exclusive? i don't know.

there are things in life we'll do and compare to HCCO. there are people in life we'll meet and compare to our batchmates. there are times when we'll think, damn, why couldn't i still be in CO?

we've spent 1.5 years waiting for every single prac to end.

now we'll be spending days, weeks, months, wishing they hadn't.

but as much as i don't want to leave, as much as i'm scared that one day HCCO will mean virtually nothing to me, i don't want to be the one left behind.

we're all leaving - we're leaving together. we're one batch, one xyz. a group.

we came - together.
we saw - together.
we conquered - together.

and now we'll be leaving - together. we leave not because we want to, but because we can.

we've given all we can to HCCO. we've done our best and we've done a lot of things we may not be proud of, but we've done ourselves proud.

right now, today, this is who we are.

we've come a long way, and we've still got a long way to go. maybe we won't see each other every day. maybe we won't see each other every week. but every step of the way, there will be people behind us. people who care. people who appreciate us for who we were, who we are, and who we will be. with or without the practices, with or without the late night present piaing, and with or without seeing each other as much as we've gotten used to.

ningfei was right - the sun has risen, the next day has come, our HCCO story is complete.

but another book has just begun.

Gosh! It's just 2 more days to the big day! Though I already left school, but I still feel pretty anxious, like the same way I feel 2 years back! I guess it's quite a mixture of feelings for you guys out there. Everything will seem like a dream after Thursday, and all of which seem like never happened before. The hardwork you put in; the frustration that things just don't sound right; the joy when things starts to fall in place, the fun with all your comrades; the heartwarming feeling when you can feel yourself playing together as an orchestra, working as an orchestra, improving as an orchestra. Probably after this is something that you can't get anywhere else, and you can only be reminded of this feeling through your memory, the common memory you share with the other 80 people up there.

Dear juniors, it's only 2 more days, I urge you to make this chapter a really memorable one. Enjoy the 15 minutes up on stage, enjoy the music you are playing, recall the efforts and sweat you have put in the past few weeks and months, the friendship you have forged. Play from your heart, touch the heart of the audience, tell them the story of the bell, let them see the beautiful scene of spring.

It's really fortunate that I can mo4 mo4 de3 stand at one side, seeing you guys making improvement after improvement and working hard towards your common aim. It's really heartening to see that, especially how bonded you guys have become over the past few months. =)

On 10th May, You definitely will live up the expectations you have set, create a new legend, not for anyone else, but for yourself.

The legend will be yours, Da Di will be yours!

i'm scared and i'm nervous and i'm excited!!!

mostly scared.

the thing abt it now is that we've all been in really good COs since forever. ny, chs, rv, st nicks, uh i think that's all right? haha. we're all good. i think we are awesome and i think all our sec schools are awesome too.

but then when you're good who do you want to compare yourself against? the schools without 7ji/9ji/dip? the schools with a weak background and a lot of drive?

all of us want to be perfect. we're comparing ourselves against the professionals; with our individual standards it's hard not to.

when can we tell ourselves we're GWH standard?

what IS GWH standard?

given where we are now can you go to SCH and get a GWH and come back happy?

in sec2 we thought we were good and we got silver. and we bitched all the way back on the bus and for the next few months and for the next year.

then in sec4 we realised, in sec2 we were actually pretty shitty.

GWH is a competition against ourselves -
how far do you think we can go?
how far do you want to go?
how far do you have to go before you can come back satisfied?

last week i would have disagreed with shouhao. how can we fight against ourselves if we can't even fight against other schools? but now i'm beginning to think maybe we can. (:

well now we're good, but we're not THAT good. yin zhun and correct gong fa/zhi fa can only take you so far. when we're good enough the flowers will bloom for our da di. when we're good enough the bell in bell song will be visible to you even as you play. when we're good enough everyone will be a part of the song, not playing it. nyco - you know this from feng nian ji. make it come true again.

This post is dedicated to the j1&2s of 2007 - from someone who left long ago.

Look at the picture.

Ask yourself, if you are something in that photo, what are you?

A firework has to go through a long period of preparation, moulding and perfecting its insides, just for that eventual few seconds of impact, that bright shower that lights up the night.

I guess this is quite an appropriate metaphor for you all - a firework. Imagine yourself as one of the little particles that make up the firework.

Now all of you are on the journey up through the dark sky. You might not know where you will reach and end, you just know that you will "explode" in a shower of brightness "somewhere out there". You might have thought that the long period of preparation is unbearable, however seek comfort in knowing that it will end as a perfect work of art, a burst of light that lights up the night sky.

I have confidence in you to be the firework on 100507 that flies the highest, explodes to be the brightest work of art, and provides the best memories to the people who are there to experience it.

GWH and showcase! but if we're killing ourselves trying to reach that, spoiling our last few weeks of co prac, then a bit no point.

i wanna enjoy the last few pracs before syf because i know i'll miss all these meng drillings after syf.

and note: meng drill while enjoying it can come together. for all i know, i enjoyed the mad pracs we had in ny before our syf 2 years ago. why not now..

it's been a very long time since i last set foot on this piece of cyberland.
if my memories still havn't failed me, it was stayover at wen qi's house that i last blogged. And THAT post was a collab between me and bro rh..

this post may well be deemed as an account of my life on labour day 2007. But YET it made me think. Think of hcco. think of xyz. think of the jnrs who hopefully will realise we've reached single digit countdown to 10th may.. comtemplation some may i call it. i dare not claim this term for my streams of consciousness. yes. streams of consciousness would suffice well enough.

-5.30am 1st may 07-
6 and a half hours earlier, I challenged jas to reaching mph for prac the next day. One nap was all it took to ruin my plans for the labour day practice..
Awoke with terrible throbs in the head, and my muscles were aching like mad. i knew something went terribly wrong.. the thermometer read 38.5 deg. I was dumbfounded by the glaring truth on the thermometer. still feeling groggy, i thot it was a trick of light. i went back to sleep. making sure that the alarm is still set to 6.30am..

-6.30am 1st may 07-
The alarm woke me. for a moment i wanted to get off the bed. the next moment all that feeling of discomfort filled every tissue of my body. DAMN. i thot. not now.. the thermometer remained as stubborn as ever.. 38.5 deg. It struck me at that moment-practice for me was out of the picture. Reluctantly, i picked up my hp. made the neccessary calls and msges. I laid back on my bed. What the FREAK went wrong?
wasn't i still jking and crapping the day before?
there was still a handful of xianyue peeps who are waiting for assessment..
what is this.. i'm weak.

-8am 1st may 07-
The headache prevented me from sleeping peacefully, apart from an immense feeling of guilt. A msg which i recieved keep whirring through my head : "i think jun zhi who needs your help most will be like huh?"

~8am - 12pm 1st may 07-
My fever seemed reluctant to subside. I'm super pissed with myself. PRAC'S OVER. and i never showed up at all. I wonder how are the juniors. wonder how the weaker ones (no offence) are doing right now. wonder how junzhi was faring with the solo assessment. the doctor said it's due to fatigue and insufficient rest. i wonder whether the other xianyue peeps are having occasional breaks. wonder what will happen if someone else caught such a illness.

i lay in bed. unable to do anything. literally.

-after 12pm 1st may 07
after countless times of 30 min winks, i gave up trying to sleep. trudging unwittingly off my bed for lunch. I can feel every muscle of my body being pulled by gravity. It was not something nice. The only time i slept was really after lunch. 3 hrs of nap peppered with occassional wakes. I suddenly thought of prac-ing erhu. it's in school. it's 9 days to syf. and i cant even practise on my own, let alone practise with the rest.

actually what is this that we are practising for.. like ningfei said. GwH? top in sg? certainly all these accolades are testiment to our abilities.. but again. what is it that really makes co prac an enjoyable thing? it doesn't matter if sometimes people get pissed with one another, it's precisely this ups and downs in hcco that really bonds (no pun intended) everyone together. zhengyou pmsed, wen qi pmsed, I pmsed too. But at the end of the day, we get to know each other better..
The juniors are bonded within themselves. good. but i gotta say this: it's really pitiful and pathetic if a batch of xyz peeps keep to their own batch. Why are snrs called "snrs". The amount of experience they have to share.. what they have gone thru..
It's enough said.
My hands are tired from this post. And sitting up straight on my chair take hell out of me..

hello all!

it has been a long time since i blogged on this blog. i realli do miss tis blog much..

so fast it has been, since the days of hcco concert huang zhong da lv 2006! time has realli passed. me as a member of hccoxyz 0506, already feel so old. days of practising for concert 06 in the lt3 and the audi, already seem like the good old days when i enter the mph. so many things have changed, people too. the j1s of yesterday who joke around all the time in 06, has become the j2s to shoulder the responsibility of syf 07 .. the j2s of hccoxyz06, have each separated for their own paths..gathered tgther in mph onli because of hcco.now we are j3s, we are called the "seniors" of hcco.. seniors coming back to see our juniors .. n its the same to j4s like junkai, n the other j5s. n mayb, nx sat u might see the j6s?

hah. my blogging skills haf decreased so much, now i dun even noe how to express my tots in words. i stil rmb the time aft the concert where i typed a super long post to conclude my feelings, haha, it has been 1 year! 1 year since i said bye-bye, n i noe, at tt time, tt i wont be going over to see my juniors. i wont be gg over to the block B classrooms n see how they are doing, how are they, how are their practices. cos i haf alr say bye-bye rite? it took 7 months for me to overcome the fear of saying bye-bye, tt i finally stepped again onto hcco grounds. tt was in march 2007 i think, when i finally decided to go down n c the new blood of hcco n hccoxyz.

cos syf 2007 was coming.

i rmb it was a wednesday, aft i quitted my job, n i purposely chose tt day cos the j2s were having their blocks. the mph housed my memories of chsco, but when i entered there were pple that i din noe. i knew they were hcco juniors, but they duno im a hcco senior.

they had a small practice session. i saw what i wanted to, n got what i wanted to know. i left a while after.

to me hcco will forever remain as tt chapter in the book tt me n my batchmates haf created. i was merely flipping the book to a later date n seeing how hcco has become.i was trying to see how the story of hcco 0607 is, or at least trying to know..

aft tt wed i tried my best to go for their sat practices, but wat can i do? onli to go back. the power to change things haf departed, from all of us "seniors", n the chance to do sth as a team, n not as individuals, haf left without a trace. wat are we now? floating individuals. objects tt work according to their own principles n rules, n work towards their choices in life. thruout my life in hcco, although short, i have always tot tt the chance to work as a team is one of the greatest blessings. 80 pple working towards the same goal, 80 pple breathing the same breath, n dreaming the same dream. wat other kind of luxury can replace tis? wat kind of entertainment can giv u the same sense of achievement n elation when the fruits of their labour finally blossomed?

i was thrown up in the SCH gallery. i was shouting "xianyue!" all the way.. n at tt moment, happy as i was, the fight has ended, n the power to change has been transferred. but i din worry, cos there wil be pple who wil use tt power again for the sake of hcco!

there are n wil be times when i wil feel lost n regret, when i see the flag of hcco being risen in any concert halls n its music being played. i wil think back to my times in hcco n hccoxyz, picturing the moments exactly as they were a dozen years ago, n listening once again, to those shouts n cheers, n the times when evebodi was dejected, when the morale was low, but we kept on practising. den i wil think, how great it wil be if im on tt stage now. wif my batchmates of hcco, n playing the same music as hcco is playing now. how great it wil be, to experience the same monotonous routine tt hcco haf in its monday n wed practices, n to go out aft prac for dinner knowing tt the next day is yet another gruelling day of school n tutorials. work half-finished, in class it will be listening to lectures but thinking abt co. yep. it wil be great..

i wonder if 1 year later, aft u graduated from hc, wil u feel the same?

u will be that unknown senior, coming back to mph, seeing the juniors whom u dun recognise, n den thinking back to those past times yet again, except, tt urs is uniquely urs, ur story, will be so different from mine..

9 days left rite? 9 days is not alot frankly. u might think the standard of the co now will be tt of the co onstage on the 10th. but dun forget! until the last sec onstage, each n every one of u haf the power to change. to change wat? the fate of hcco? the results of syf? the chance of getting to the top?... i think, more importantly, u all haf the power, to change ur own story, tt particular chapter in HCCO tt is dedicated to hcco0607.. do u aim for GwH? do u aim to be the top jc co? but wat are these actually? standards set by whom? who said we are the top... jus by clinching 2 consecutive GwH? is hcco all abt syf? or is syf all abt GwH? to me, i think,syf is merely a climax in the story. who can doubt its significance to ani one of us who were from co? but, whether u like it or not, syf 07 will end tt day, will end at tt moment, n evethg will settle down once again, the j2s will leave, n new j1s will come in. b4 u noe it, the nx syf, syf09, comes along... n the process repeats. do u aim for syf07? or do u fight syf07? for something as temporary as tis, i see no value in putting in utmost effort, sweat n blood to it. aft all, so what if we "win"? is winning tt impt? tt temporary glory pasted on each n every one of the 80 faces, the cries of joy resounding in the hall... they will fade, in time they will fade, n all will remain bleak n bare yet again, as though nth has happened. and then.. when u come back ten years down the road... u will feel envious.envious of tt temporary glory, now pasted on ur juniors' face, envious of the shouts and calls which u once had.

if GwH is wat u aim for, den i might as well chuck u into some co tt is better than hcco. some co tt u know haf a better chance of winning. because u wan to win rite? den when the results is announced, n ur co wins, wouldnt u be happy? elated? flushed wif glory, tt I have won the GwH? tt I was part of the team, part of the top jc co in sg? is tt wat it is all abt?

there was tis scene on syf which kept replaying in my mind. i saw some tjco pple crying aft they lost syf. they were crying out loud. why do pple cry? is losing a competition so great a force as to make pple cry? or are they sad tt all their effort put in are washed down the drain? ... then they began to cheer, as one whole big co, some amidst tears. they cheered n cheered, until the whole hall was filled wif their cries n shouts, until all the other co were looking at them, even those tt "won". i was looking at them, n there was sth inside me tt compelled me to respect them. respect this cheer, n respect these pple who had gone onstage proudly wif their co flag...

who can replace u in ur co? who could haf gone thru the same shit as u went in tis 1 year, who could haf acted as ur role in hcco? even if u ponned regularly, even if u were so bo-chap abt hcco all the time, WHO could haf known n felt what u had? WHO could haf ur attitude? WHO could possibly come by and replace u, as part of the team of hcco? whether u r a zhonghu, gaohu, erhu, u haf ur role! it has been a fact since the day u joined, it stil is a fact 9 days to syf. the crucial part is whether pple admit their roles or not, right? cos if they dont, the co is said to be "not bonded". tests n exams, outings n gatherings will be much more impt, n pple will flee from co practices, thinking that if they dun screw up on May 10, evethg will be fine. tis is, of cos, natural to those who fail to see who they are in tis co...

so, wat is all this abt syf, abt winning, abt GwH, abt the top co? does tt mean we shld all slack off n go home n rest until the 10th where we go n perform, jus so to 'participate' in syf? seriously, if u are those who cant wait for all this to end, u might wan to take tis suggestion... aft all, y sweat? i wouldnt blame u if u think like tt...

but for those whom i know, those who call themselves hcco-ians, i would say, go up tt stage proudly, n show the sweat n blood that u all haf put in all these months.. show not to the audience, or to the judges, or even to the seniors of hcco, but show to yourselves, show to ur batchmates, tt you can do it, all of you can, as a team, and as hcco. go up, n make yet another legend of hcco come true... bcos the music played will be urs, the hard work put in will be urs, the memories will be urs...n, the story of hcco0607 will be yours. put tt final fullstop in place on tt stage, n let hcco record yet another history of glory n pride, of which none of us can ever wipe away. and then, when u finally close tt book n leave, pass tt book on to the nx batch of hcco-ians... n rmb, tt nth in it will be temporary, nth in it will be as superficial as "GwH" or "winning", for hcco will stand tall n straight, whether or not u or i leave. syf 07 will and shall end, but hcco will forever remain...

syf is but one competition, hcco is a legend. i hope tis statement shall suffice to summarise alot tt im trying to say..

i hope, in any case, tt my post did not offend anibodi. these are merely tots from a senior, and if any of u dont agree,u can go ahead n delete the post n i wont twitch an eyebrow at all! frankly, this may be the last time i CAN post such messages, since once the current batch of j2s leave, i would know practically nobodi in hccoxyz....n den my post might become "jus-another-stranger"'s post.

no matter if u gonna quit aft syf or WATEVER. the fact is right now YOU are one of the 80, others may not be as lucky as YOU who haf gotten in. Look at me, im jus an old donkey squeaking nonsense here, while all u haf to do is to play the wrong note at the wrong bar, or gan pai zi, or watever, to change the whole music produced by ur orchestra! i can shout n cry here until my throat becomes hoarse, but YOU jus nid to attend the practices (whether or not voluntarily), concentrate on every twinny litt mistake tt u make n make sure YOU correct them, and YOU can change alot more than I can! I can act enthu here n try to motivate pple, but YOU jus nid to put in tt effort, show tt u care, n play ur heart out! I am darn useless now, occupying some space in this blog, typing tis stupid long post trying to convey my tots, but YOU jus nid to sit in xiaozu/dazu, n use ur erhu to convey YOUR feelings!

and so, to all hccoxyz07 peeps, recognise the chance tt YOU haf, realise the power that YOU haf, and know, that YOU are part of hcco! to some of u, tis is jus the end of the beginning... but dun forget, (as i said b4), there WERE seniors who were sitting in the same seat as u r sitting right now... and in a way, YOU represent all of us... :)

This is my first time blogging here for all the times in hccoxyz.
I didn’t see the point of posting an entry cos I’ve got nothing to say. But now I do somehow.

SYF is freakingly near. It’s only 12 days away.
And seriously…we are terrible still.

I wonder what effect the practices have on each of us.
Do you reflect, think about it and worry? Do you try to do something about it? Or is it merely another practice that you cant wait to get over and done with?
As a j1, what does syf mean to you? And to my dearest batchmates, what is this syf to you?

To different people, syf holds different level of importance and meaning.
Given more freedom in jc, we can choose what we want to invest our time and energy in.
Hence I believe for each and everyone who chose to join co again in jc, it’s something more than ‘cos I don’t have the skills and experience for other cca so I just join co again lorr’.
If you’ve chosen co, why is it so difficult to put in a little more in this crucial period?

I can understand that it’s difficult to put your heart and soul into something that you’ve not yet grown attached to. But like what ningfei says, ‘just co-operate’.
It all takes time for people to bond, for us to learn the many lessons of a co along the way.
It was the case for many of the j2s too.
For people with the passion, the effort comes very naturally. For people who do not feel the obligation to put in the effort, just try.

I was a little disheartened to see the juniors being so enthu for faculty outing.
It’s good to see this level of enthusiasm if I’m from fac comm.. but it’s not as a co member when it’s only 12 days to syf.

Most of us have been through syf. each and everyone do have certain amount of understanding of an orchestra.
We do know when to be soft when to be loud, the gong fa the zhi fa.
We do understand that we need practice to ensure we remember and perfect them.
We do realize that we need practice to learn from our mistakes and change them.
We do know that we need practice to play in unison.
We do know that we should listen out for each other and not meng play your part to be heard.
We do know that we need to practice to cultivate the chemistry.

But are you willing to put these into action?
It all boils down to one thing- your attitude.
It shows very naturally if you bother. People can sense it if you tried.

As a hcco member, how do we regard our role?
I have to admit I always lived under the notion that hcco is the zai-est jc co around so there’s no worries. But the reality is that: we aren’t the batch of people who clinched the honours.
Putting our past history aside, we are really nothing. We have yet to prove ourselves to be worthy of continuing being the top jc co.
The harsh reality requires us to put in 10 times the amount of effort we put in now to do so.
The harsher reality is that it requires the effort of every single member. No one can slack off cos we are an orchestra. It’s team work X team work.

Ningfei’s words make sense. We shouldn’t look at it as a competition, we should do our best.
The thing is we are FAR from doing our best.
Which is why I feel that it’s a pity because I believe we have the potential and abilities.
Why do we leave spaces for regrets to take place when we could have done something to avoid it in the first place?

In the next 12 days to come, why can’t we just make co our priority? Just like how we’ve done it in our various secondary schools?
If we’ve done our best we should be satisfied with our results.
People say it’s the process that matter. We are learning still…

I have limited time here.. Neways

One half an hour or so and it will be 14 days to syf.

These few days have been a wake up - go school - chiong mph prac CO - go home and sleep - routine for me. During lectures, tutorials, breaks, meetings I was frequently thinking about SYF, sometimes humming the tunes to myself. Crazy I am going to get, but not when I know that I want what I want to achieve. Todays' the 8th consecutive practice for us, I was told by Chen Yang. Tomorrow we are going to have one yet again.

Like shouhao, previously I thought if we were to progress as we were, we would reach the gwh standard by the time we reached syf. What seemed and sounded discouraging and over criticising about our practices (from snrs) became more realistic. Our dynamics, "zheng qi du", and EVEN gongfa was not yet done. Let alone tai feng and other complicated stuff like mo qi. Yet I hear grumbles about practices and see people getting unfocused (laughing talking doing homework) during practices. I must however applaud quite a number who are really worried and practising hard on their own part.

I do not know what would be our final outcome and I do not want to think about it currently. Maybe you are thinking we are already practising very hard now and we are already or almost up to the standard. But the nature of the competition is this: who sow the most seeds who reaps the most benefit. Instead of trying to gauge where we should raise our standards to so that we fit into the gwh category, what we should be working towards is the top. And that means working to our best potential, using every minute of our time have effective practice.

Only 14 days more. What we do in this 14 days will decide what memories we have for CO. For some of us, it may be the last of the 6 years we will be in a Chinese orchestra. I would not want my last year of syf to end with regret. After 10th May, you will have all the time to joke, talk, play, mug wadeva. But for the remaining time let us make sweet memories out of it.

P.S. Finally felt a little better from the flu. The last four days was kinda hellish. Especially on Monday. Take care of your own bodies and dun get ill!!

and yes wenqi. haha remembered those days. 16 days to syf and we were praccing out jnrs like mad. staying back till like the school closed just to make sure the jnrs prac with tiao yin qi or otherwise us to scream our heads off. haha. oh wells. now it's 16 days to syf and somehow not the same feeling.

i always used to wonder how it will be when like wenqi and me and siheng and kaiying get into hc, with all the weird lil boys from opposite whom we're always suanning; praccing hard for syf together is like how far fetched idea. so amusing. and here i am now. at this far fetched, but already here moment. my goodness. and still amused. haha. and happy to be piahing together with everyone that's in here. nvm how weird they were. or even now. hahaha. whoops.

and no i don't want syf to be my last performance! neither the uh hc arts fest. how ulu pok. it's like not a nice ending. so yeap totally agree with ruihong that we MUST get into showcase!

16 days to SYF. Are u all excited? Looking forward to it?

Im not going to repeat that we nid to get gwh, will feel disappointed when we didnt... ...
Actually, to me, the results do not really matter. As long as we enjoyed that few mins on the stage...........

HOWEVER,
WE MUST PERFORM AT SYF SHOWCASE! (I WANT!)

So, to ensure that we will perform at syf showcase, we must at least get a gwh. Thus, We must get gwh.

16 days later, i wanna drink honey everyday to prepare my throat for the champion roar right after SYF showcase.

16 days later, my co life, will end.
maybe it'll be the last time i perform in a chinese orchestra. acty, for most of us snrs, it might be our last chance. But i hope it wun be the last, i dun want my co life to end just liddat.

16 days, we used to have so much time, but now, all we have is 16 days. Its hard to believe that everything is coming to an end so soon. Well, then again, it had been quite a long time already. Its almost time for us snrs to leave CO behind our mind and pursue our future. For this last 16 days of sweat, weariness, agony, anxiety and of coz, music , lets make them the best days of our lives.

16 days, slightly more than 2 weeks. for the past 4 days i had been reaching home at unearthly hours and whenever my dad asked, i realised my ans is all "i had co prac" I tried my best, put in all i got. now i ask you, did you? I have this feeling i may get beaten up by my dad soon, but i still have that urge to chiong to mph right now. i wanna do my part, i dun wanna have any regrets.

Imagine 16 days later u are sitting at SCH, the results were just announced, we din get wad we set out for. and u ask yourself "did i do all i could?", "wad if i put in that lil more effort 16 days ago?"

if theres a time when u should forget everything but co, its now.

i know we can do it. you know we can, too. the thing about practicing is that when we're in dazu it becomes "okay, i will prac this in xiaozu", and when you're in xiaozu it'll be "go home and prac." so basically everything is a "go home and prac" eventually. so... go home and prac. haha.there are things i can't help with, like yinzhun, i can't sit next to you for one hour until you get it right. but someone can, and her name is TIAO YIN QI, she loves you a lot. she'll even sit next to you the whole day just to hear the sound of your erhu.

i'm sleepy.

Hello all snrs, batchmates and jnrs. Dunno how you all feeling now.. scared? motivated? shitty? calm? optimistic? unconcerned? ill? Yep SYF being 16 days away is a cold hard fact which cannot be emphasized anymore and like bong said, what is even more worrying is the fact that there are still LOTS to be done. Admist all these feelings I really hope that all of us, seniors, batchmates juniors alike, believe and genuinely trust right from the bottom of your heart that we can do it! We can get gwh we can be the top orchestra once again. To those who are dying and feeling sucky(or in which way you name it): Turn your remaining energy to practicing and motivating, encouraging each other to practise. Focus on listening to each other during practise sessions for unity and togetherness is the key to any orchestral piece. To those who have not been working hard enough, do so right NOW. Meanwhile enjoy the process of SYF and keep your spirits high! Lets us do it... together as HCCO.

i don't know what happened to all our pracs, but there're less than 20 days on the clock now. and honestly speaking we're kind of shitty.

in ny it was pia pia pia pia pia and in chinese high for the guys it was probably slack all the way and "omg we're so proud of ourselves for not adding prac" but in hc i'm just confused. i'm torn between both, well actually no i'm still in pia mode but there doesn't seem to be any piaing involved when people don't even turn up, let alone on time.

i like xyz.

but the syf passion and shit has not yet begun to surface in me.

Hi all.. I am not accustomed to writing long blogs altho i have many thoughts... Need to remind you all of the stark reality that SYF rehearsal is just next sunday (22nd April). Please do not waste the chance as the booking of the SCH is ard thousand plus... Money aside, a more pertinent issue would be the chance for us to try out the balancing of the songs and get used playing on the stage. So please spend more time practising the pieces from now. If there is a time to sacrifice your studies for CO, the time would be now. I would regret the time where i have to resort to coercion to get ppl to practise but the false side of me would be unleashed for the good of all..

Jus to answer two mysteries that happened during the interaction. For those people who din get their big gulps after lunch you should have seen the ants infested drinks. The dispenser was like an ants nest. So din manage to buy in the end. Hehex.

And you should have noticed our (me hognfei ruihong n samuel) absence when mass games started. The Sky Assault Team! For dayang who got the butt shot and sutyee who suffered three bombs from the sky you should know ba. and Hongfei's response was damn farnie when we caught the trio (one guy and two gals) who were sitting at the stairs during mass games when they should be playing too. Shall not go into further detail... What happened in the end was that the four of us "finished" each other off at the toilet while people were changing. We even got one cute boyboy wet after he finished changing opps.

This post sounds more like a personal recount than a group one. haha. But hope this will set everyone else to blog more here whether or not its a personal story haha.

Yo

Realised that I've been neglecting a lot of things including this blog. So today shall talk about the general situation in xianyue ba..

erm. Isit always true that it is always during the holidays, the dip in enthusiasm level is the greatest? Does the end of the year spells the death of the spirit that we once had when we first entered CO?

Yuhao with his bio O, sylvia with her volunteer camp, kaiying back to m'sia, hongfei and ruihong with their gefang pracs, siheng with her exams and now kaili in China. More to come.. It seems that everyone are busy with something. Not trying to say that it is their fault.. but it is indeed quite difficult to organise outing also where even in practices, we dun have a decent attendance. Still remember last year around this time when we entered, practices was just us and ningfei and mayb minyi haha. But in all, just felt that CO now was lacking something.. an aim or a 'wanting-to-come' attitude.

Hope with the upcoming syf songs + HCCO interaction + CO chalet + Sec 4 juniors from ny and hc will add more spice to the seemingly mundane events at hcco currently. Will ask you all to visit this blog more often so be prepared haha!

P.S. Will b going away from now till dec 15 for an attachment. 8am-6pm everyday (hehex rox rite) Will miss all of you.. when i have time, will definitely chiong back after the attachment and practice for like half an hour? Quite useless la you may think but I think I have been neglecting too much.

Thanks Yuhao, Sut Yee, Siheng, Kaili, Wenqi, and HONGFEI for participating in the St. Luke's hospital performance. Haha, the old and sick ppl there damn happy that we play ( nd even sang) for them. Interact club aso quite happy with our work. Din know that our first 'busker' experience was that fun: impromtu all the songs and flopping all but in the end still kena praised. =P. Maybe we can go and perform in the middle of orchard road one weekend and then earn money for drying CO fund ( not funny ya..) .

And oh ya.. Sentosa outing coming on Sunday, 13th August. Let xianyue have this last big outing with seniors before we all plunge into the mugging mode. Can go play soccer, volleyball, badminton swim at the beach. Just for this one last time.. hope all xianyue ppl can be enthu and contribute actively towards this event.. Qing Gong Yan this friday and hope everyone is looking foward to it. Its really quite scary to see the J2s now all in the mugging mode and suddenly we are losing their contacts so quickly. Hope the event will bond us together again!

Oh ya.. very important.. singing event on qing gong yan.. i will be hosting.. or rather xianyue is organising... all those who wan to sing now here is your chance to sing in front of whole co. haha.. i noe a lot of xianyue peeps love singing.. dun hum ji ah.. hf, rh, libo, kaiying and ya.. i noe there are aso hidden talents among the rest fo you rite? btw.. CD players etc. MAY NOT be available. dunno how we can perfrom too.. got any suggestions? like playing erhu and singing?! Group item aso not bad.. i wld prefer the whole of xianyue putting up a small item.

Yo ppl!

havent been posting ever since became sl and the blog have been noticeably stagnant even tho it has been some time after the blocks. by now all of you may have received your block test results and whether you did badly or did well, all of you can share your sorrows :( or your happiness :) with us, let the ones who did badly zibei and then pia for promos b4 its too late. For me it was not all flying colours but instead a string of reds?

I've just received a mail from rachel yang regarding the xianyue camp proposal and was quite impressed at wad they did. Hmm.. all those who joined xianyue camp last year may have also received the mail and know about this. It was jointly done by rachel and sherry with just a bit of prompting and must really thank them for their enthusiasm and effort despite them having their exams too.

I must tell you all frankly that I have not really expected myself to take up this post previously but now being in the post, I assure that i will be fully committed and that I will bring out the fullest potential not only in myself but also in our batch of xianyue zu. Most of us will agree that the previous batches of xy sl have done very well, as far as we know. That sets the benchmark for me to do even better. I also want to point out that our batch is a unique batch in that everyone is very outstanding in their own ways and skillswise etc. are so balanced. It is only with each and every one of your support that I can strive to do even better and bring even greater hopes for xianyue. errr... So wads the link? The point I am trying to propose is that all of you will volunteer to help, whether in organising xianyue camps, outings or spearhead any crazy ideas that you may have.. that all of you play a part in practices by being enthusiastic and serious when need be. I cannot stress upon myself leading a team of close friends than a group of followers.

Thank you for all the support that seniors and all of you J1s have given me. For those who did not expect me to take on this post in the end, thanks also for giving me your understanding and this opportunity.

Btw, expect new 'faces' in our blog with new pictures.. the blog looks old rite? Also any suggestions for sentosa outing? The location, time, activities to have? Some of you all complain the venue no good... some say they are busy.. Whatever the case, hope we have a really good time coming up yea..

should be at NUS. they're inviting other JCs and secondary schools and other random orchs. Mr Lum's conducting the session. "he will be working with the student erhu performers on both erhu techniques and relevant orchestra coordination". u can either go as performer or audience.

HCCOXYZ BLOG BUGGED

Doubts were raised over the past week when the tagboard of hccoxyz blog has apparently been bugged.

It has been noted that the breakdown in the tagboard has caused the blog to be inactive over the past few days. The root of the problem has not been found, but the sudden change of background music of 'If we hold of together' to a chinese song called fan fan seemed to lead to some clue.

Quipped Ruihong Cai, 17, "the tagboard has been bugged". Rumours are saying that the cause of the problem could be due to excessive discussion and obssesion about a myth that invloves the relationship among three people. Analysts are advising people to refrain from being too uptight about this myth and to change their beliefs. "Its time to look beyond and discover more real happenings", said Prof. Lim from We-don't-tell-lies university.

Meanwhile, anyone who knows of the problem should solve it quickly so that the blog can be revived soon.

heyy.

its alr some days aft the concert...guess life is returning back to normal for eveone now? these few days i haven realli been doing anithing else tho...eat sleep go out do some stuff, den eat n sleep again.

i sleep alot these few days. everytime i sleep, i will rmb tt nite tho.everytime i wake up, i wil ask myself, is it over?..evethg seems abit strange now to me..

i heard our whole concert.hehx honestly speaking din noe there were so mani mistakes.haha.but, its still our concert..the xianyue qizou was like -- erhu ganning so much! one part even tuo jie from banzou. haha. but no, we did a fine job! tts wat i think so, n wat alot other audiences think so too... high five! the xianyue sl of 02-03 batch was saying.."can hear tt u all haf alot of mo qi. all the erhu sounded like one playing (which is true! go hear the recording!). think its one of my fav items in the whole concert.." hahaha! was damn happy la! so many extra pracs were not redundant aft all...n all ur efforts are worth it! knew ALL of u put in alot of effor t in practising this qizou song...both j1s n j2s peeps. giv urself a pat on the shoulders! its wat onli hccoxyz peeps will noe about.... even u kaili! u oso put in alot of efforts in practising tis song, altho u din shang in the end, i think its realli the process that mattered...

erm. i think this is gg to be a long post...hehx.

as wat jinguan said, tis is my last concert. whether or not i will be up on stage again for ani other co performances, i realli dunno. but, it meant alot to me, n to all those that had oso viewed it as their last concert. i rmb the night before, jiankai was saying on the phone "eh, last concert leh, mus giv 100%!!" n tts y when i met him in the backstage n hugged him, i keep saying "100%, jiankai, 100%!!" mayb to the j1s n to some of the j2s, this concert may seem jus ani other concert, but trust me, the LAST one realli means sth....thinking back all those years which we haf all pulled through thick n thin together, esp my chsco peeps...yupp they were a great bunch of frens. n allow me to use this blog to thank all of them...

a very very long time ago, tis litt kid was introduced into the CO world. Following his brothers' footsteps, he joined school COs, and performed in so mani competitions and concerts n public performances....but most importantly, he found out alot abt himself n others around him through tis CCA, until finally, in JC, it has become more than a CCA to him. he din regret. it took up almost half of his life...hahaha...

mayb aft a few years, he might turn back n start a whole new CO journey? den it will be a brand new one. one which will create another impact in his life. or mayb, he would haf alr said goodbye to tis life.

hehx. i wana confess sth. tis xianyue is definitely one special xianyue to me.

i myself cannot explain y i felt anithing for tis section.i stil rmb last year april, i was stil running for the huang cheng exco...thinking that my path is somehow laid. my jc life. at tt time, i haf no seniors to consult. jc was like a totally new world to me, a world full of chances. i wanted sth diff in life. tts y i din join co in the first few months. i joined huang cheng. bcos it gave me sth different...aft i failed to get into HC exco, stupid me went to run for co exco. it was jus my luck that my batch had so few pple tt the whole batch was running for exco! at tt time, i was like...huh...

stil rmb the speech day last year...me n delin were late cos of some racial harmony thingy, when we got inside lt3, onli the central row of the lt was filled, and alot of peeps haf alr given their speech. at tt time i din noe ALOT of pple, basically onli the chs peeps, n those few in xianyue like minyi (which ponned the speech day ...) i was like ani one of u j1s now, even more blur den, duno ani pple, duno wat my jc life will be like, duno wat hcco is....n i jus stupidly ran for exco.haha. altho i performed in syf wif the co...hcco was stil like = nothing to me den. n den, when the results came out, i din noe tt my jc life had alr been set. tt im alr destined to work wif hcco peeps...n to do so many things later....

tt day when i knew i became xianyue sl....i did wat i haf done 2 years back when i became the student conductor of chsco. i asked myself wat i wanted to achieve wif tis post. wat i wanted to do. i stil rmb i asked myself "so wats the job of the xianyue sl?" ..i din haf the ans den.at the end of the bus ride (i was thinking on the bus)
i reached an ans. sth which alot of u might not be able to understand - "to make everyone smile in xianyue" ...i stil din noe wat it meant den...not until the last day, the very day of the concert, the very day that i leave tis post, den i understood tt i haf to add sth to the sentence - "to make everyone smile in xianyue AFT EVERYTHING"...becos there were so much conflicts through tis year in tis section (right?)..tt it jus isnt poss to make everyone smile everytime...but, if u can make everyone smile aft the concert...den wats there to regret?....

n den i started to haf dreams. dreams that i sometimes try to relate to my batchmates, esp those in xianyue. dreams that were so innocent, so far-fetched. onli to be pulled down so ruthlessly by reality itself. onli to realise that wat i wanted was not wat xianyue wanted. i realised tis onli 2 weeks b4 the concert... n yes zhengyou, tt was the truth that i realised.

tt nite that i tokked to lixiang, i told her i realised the truth alr, she asked me "wats the truth?" i said "that the day i tot i was the sl, i had alr failed as an sl." she said "y?" i ans "cos in the first place there was no sl-mem relationship in a section, there's onli pple in a section."....n she said its true. ironically it may seem, the day i tot i was the sl was the day tt i became sl...

its a hard truth tt i was prepared to accept. but there was one thing bugging me when i realised tis fact...n that is, if i haven done the things that i haf done, if i haven thought the things that i haf thought, will xianyue become xianyue now? or will everything be left unchanged? tts y, libo n zhengyou, tts y i asked both of u tt question tt nite 2 days before the concert aft our last prac. i was confused. "would u rather be one that do not make ani changes, or one that make changes but all the wrong ones?"..

n den, the night of the concert, when evebodi was buzzing around high n all, at dinnertime, i was still thinking...or sort of thinking. evethg was gg too fast for me to think, i jus din haf time... it was until dinnertime, tt i sat down wif libo, n i asked him sth which is not related to all tt i haf said, but yet seemed to relate alot ...."wat should i be thinking of when im playing the mengdie solo?"...he gave me an ans that i think i knew it alr deep within me. "think of all the things that u have done (in tis year in co n xianyue)"...it was still not enuff tho. not until zhengyou pulled me to a quiet corner outside the toilet jus before mengdie and said sth...that it hit me. i shant say wat he said to me, but wat he said was the key to evethg. it was like opening a lock to all the locks that i haf encountered.

n tts y i said during the sleepover, that i was kind of distracted during mengdie. ok i was fully distracted...dayang was v observant indeed. to me, mengdie was a symbol. it witnessed my batch's arrival in co, n witnessed my batch's departure. when i was playing bar 23, i was still thinking of how i first came to hccoxyz, n first took up gaohu, n played wif the seniors...tis v song, in syf 2005.how i was den someone inside tis team...den, i was there on stage, playing tis v song too, tis time wif so mani of my peers n juniors behind me, each of them coming to xianyue wif diff backgrounds, joining tis team...n i imagined how junkai had felt when he was shouxi, sitting at the v seat that he had sat before, n playing the v notes that he had played b4...n i noe, finally, that each one of us, had a different role to play. its not whether we make changes or not, its wat roles we play in tis section.no matter who u r in xianyue, u haf some role to play.trust me. EVERYONE makes a difference. its whether u recognise tis role or not. u may b tis someone in class, in church, at home, but in xianyue, u r tis SOMEONE.a role to play. whether u r some cute cute high pitched gal who alys zi high, or some deep-voiced guy who prefers to keep to himself, or some monkey who alys make funny faces n noises during dazu, or maomao, or someone who had alot to say but jus do not show it, or someone who cares alot how the concert was gg to be put up, or someone who sacrificed ur break time to prac...so mani diff roles. n as an sl, i haf my own role to play. n wif tt solo, i quietly shouted my role....did u all hear it?..

haiz. i think im jus recollecting sth that alr seem in the past.

i guess the xianyue camp is evidence of my wish to pull back the memories and let it stay. u may not believe it, but the idea of the camp actually originated from hccoxyz...even now i marvel at how i came up wif the idea, and worse, carried out the camp itself...for who? i ask....n no, zhengyou, i was wrong. it was not for myself, definitely not. i was confused den, confused whether i should carry on wif the camp or not. bcos i realised den, jus as i haf realised 2 weeks b4 the concert, that wat i wanted was not wat others wanted.

as i said b4, each batch of hccoxyz has a story left untold, a story that onli that batch will noe. we will nv noe the story of junkai's batch, n u j1s will nv noe the story of my batch. when u all become seniors, ur juniors will nv noe ur story too...its a cycle...but there is one thing in common throughout all the stories...that is, HCCOXYZ!

"And hence when the sun rises the next morning, a story is completed." hahahahha.u will haf to get to j2 to understand tis.

(dun giv him/her dao looks like u used to giv me during xiaozu...hahaha.)n contribute as much as poss, altho i noe its hard, but wif ur capability its nth much. hehx. jc is v diff from ani other form of school life, in jc its like the more u r enthu, the less happiness u get. haha. but the question is: does that mean we should not be enthu?? sometimes u nid to put down some things in life and carry on....one thing is for certain tho, i din regret calling u to join hcco! :)

junzhi: ahh, another one who dun show wat u r supposed to show. i would nv forget u r the first junior who posted 3 consecutive posts in tis v blog at the start of the year! think u wont drop ur enthusiasm so fast rite???...dun hesitate to make xianyue fun in ur own way! think u haf learnt alot thru tis co? or am i mistaken....but, no matter wat, miracles dun happen jus liddat, dun think, jus do it!

sylvia: do u noe that u realli realli CAN pissed me off sometimes??? wif ur pessimistic words la...haha.esp during my stress period...like when u walked up to me n say "concert is not gg to make it" or sth liddat. hahhaha. but nahz, its alrite now la, jus cos i was stressed abt the concert den so i easily get pissed when pple say the er 'wrong' things. haha ok i admit im a damn inefficient sl sometimes, if not alot of times, hehx but u wont be seeing me ard alr!!...but realli, thx for doing ur best for the concert too, despite all the TAG n stuffs,know u got quite a busy life...n despite knowing tt time is very very short, u still tried! oh, sth to say here.sec sch is v diff frm jc, huangcheng is v diff frm co, n j1 is v diff frm j2. yup. hope u will learnt all these by the end of nx year? as for xianyue, i duno how much u haf gone thru wif all ur frens in the past, but, i oso duno how much u will go thru wif tis section in the coming year.so i say, giv it a try!! n may passion outweigh logic!

zhengyou: u, haha, duno wat to say realli. so mani things to say, cant possibly say evethg.at the start when u joined xianyue aft huang cheng, ur heart wont here at all.realli. i can see it so clearly...u din realli admit tt u were one of us. i was even wondering whether or not to kick u out of the section wif ur attitude den...cos i din wan THAT zhengyou to be wif xianyue, or rather, i dun wan zhengyou to be here n there at the same time.but gradually...ur presence is felt...u said u tried v hard, u even came aft the salsa dance thingy, u said u will try to conc on concert...n den, aft all tt, u WERE wif us. if i haf ani doubts before the concert, i don haf any aft it. now xianyue has a place for u, n u haf a place for xianyue.haha...it isnt easy i noe...but, jus cos i din show my appreciation, doesnt mean i dun appreciate right?...in the end, its u who benefits, n not me.so whether or not u will stay wif us den, its ur choice, n you made it! so now, its another tough choice for u to do, n u noe wats it....u noe how hard it is to say goodbye, but did u noe how hard it is to say hi? make ur choice wisely...but nevertheless, thx for adding ur hairy fun to xianyue!concert might haf ended...paths might haf separated...time might haf passed...but be glad that u haf created inerasable memories in tis section, and left ur hairy footprint in hccoxyz!

hongfei: hahahahhahahahha.ok.counselling sessions wif u were.....damn tiring!!! realli la, my brain was chao da each time aft i speak wif u for loong hours. but i din regret, esp wat i c aft the concert. honestly, i had alot of qi wang on u at the start of the year, but somehow u know how to disappoint pple...haha....but somehow u get it....tt day aft pre-u seminar camp, i was damn worried la, u din come while sinhwee n shupeng came....so i tot evethg was lost le...den u came aftwards, hair messy n eyes black black.haha. tt sight was moving for me realli.wat i wan to say is, pple's impression doesnt matter, its ur impression of u that matters most. bcos - "i think therefore i am" :)...dun escape from urself, accept!! hahah tis sounds like another counselling ... n im sure u will rmb wat we haf said la...carry tis wif u to nx year's syf! im sure i wont c mr hongfei being ostra while evebodi is cheering at nx year's syf...jiayou! n rmb, u r in xianyue!

concert is finally over.

it turned out to be a lot better than what i've expected. feels like a miracle liddat, but i believe its definitely not just luck, its all the effort, tears, sweat than we have put in during the period of preparations. congrats to co, congrats to xyz, congrats to snrs, congrats to everyone.

honestly, i felt like crying during the last 2 solos in mengdie. bong and ningfei were really amazing (gery as well)... i was telling bong just now. when they were playing their respective solos, its as if all the things that they've been thru can be heard and felt from each passing bow, the amount of distance which they have struggled through to make the concert a success, and to make mengdie a success. its really touching. maybe thats wad co is all about, isnt it? the moment of gan3 dong4, the magical few seconds. its like whether a song can touch the heart of an audience, it really just depend on that split second or something. and during those split seconds, their notes touched me.

of coz, we cldnt have made it with the other snrs too! minyi, enqi, felicia, jin guan, libo, alice...

minyi, your solo in xi bei is stable as usual haha.... gd job gd job!!!!

N the moon is high up in the early nite.... everything is just sooooo not normal! and the saga is completed =D (wif saga seeds)

NOW FOR THE RECAP of the BIG DAY:

early in the morning ... we go to school to practise ... 一夜都没睡... wo u oh ... 还是想着拉琴... 到了台上我小心翼翼，不想出杂音。ok enuff laming (and superwoman)

well the entire concert turned out quiteeee okay! haha i'm sooooo amazed ... all the previous nite's pia-ing payed off! good job all xyz peeps! WE rock! meng die was seriously the 重头戏 ... starting still just so so but as we played on... somehow the 感觉 just came to every single one of us... woahh and it was at that moment that we made the audience realise wad GOLD WITH HONOURS meant! (gan dong...) Bong and Ningfei's solo was the 压轴戏 la seriously. Bong kinda just huo chu qu le den the gan jue went taking over him. "juuuuuuuuz zham!" den ningfei oso... wahhh solo rocked. U two r realli the pillars of xianyue!! rock on! thanks so much for making meng die come to a perfect close...

after that everyone was damn encouraged by the successful meng die that won the appraisal from so many of our frenz ... we, the two HONGS were like "alll right man! now not nervous liao ... very high liao. let's just go all out for xibei too!" well xibei turned out to be quite ok... well at least the shouting part "heyyy! JIIIIII'rrrrr" was damn cool ... haha tho the audience are laughing, i'm sure u peeps were impressed by it rite? Muahahahaha... xyz got kbox training one ok XD

haha encore best sia... the audience were pretty high thru-out it la... tho the last part like repeat like wum-be-dle wum-be-dle wum-be-dle times =.=" ji cool la everyone clapping lor to the beat!

the best part of the entire concert is really the post-concert high-ING period. i swear everyone was on viagra ... siao de la... nv seen the entire co getting so damn high b4. Threw ningfei and bong up several times on the foyer and the cameras were clicking away like siao... gou zai dui la... hahaha we look like some famous star. the cheers .. the candid shots.. cameras .. gays... brokebacks... lesbs... but last but not least comaradarie ...! it was definitely the most memorable performance night of our (or at least my) co errr.. career... really no voice le la... that's y can only blog and type ...the hcco concert 2006 legacy has ended... it is now up to US jnrs to jiayou for nxt yr's SYF. hcco will continue to rock as the best jnr college co in sg! and xyz will still be the best as well...

Here's a big THANK YOU to all the following ppl:
- BONG! u really rock as the most jerrifying but yet most lame president we have ever had, hcco will not have made it thus far without u lao da!

Hi guys...It's just less than a week to concert. I don't know, but I guess my time will be over soon, since this is most likely my last time performing with hcco. All these while, I have been searching for my memories, trying to find the memories I once had with hcco. Perhaps this is why I wanted to perform in this concert. And I feel so guilty for not being able to come for so many practices, and not being able to know you guys better.

Although it's a short acquaintance, I'm glad to have known all of you. Maybe unknowingly, but you all brought me joy whenever I meet up with you guys.

Surely, I won't forget...

haha its the last week alr.

so fast eh. since the day i admitted tt i wil join co, din noe last week of co will come so soon for me. n for all the j2s.

duno how to say this, but jus a few days b4, i suddenly realised im a stranger in xianyue, tt all of u are strangers to me. which is true u noe. from the very day that i had tt dream, i haf alr sort of disconnected myself from reality. when the cold waves of truths wash all over me, the feeling is kind of scary. its like, so much n so mani that u haf believed in and work towards to, and ultimately look forward to the result, to find that in the end u haf not jolted from the start line at all. u haf forgotten wat is called "bonding" and "people". most importantly u haf forgotten who u r.

regret. tts wat i feel now. regret that time has passed, regret tt so much haf been missed.

i shall try to rmb wat i haf done in the co, but im afraid i haf done nothing to be worth remembering. so tis last week, i hope i can do sth more.

pple. forget about how much u haf done or sacrificed for co. do ur best in tis last week, so tt all ur hard work would not wash down the drain. we can do it? we can.

for tis last week, can we all put down ani bad feelings about each other, n work for the concert? jus tis last week...i wil do it, i sure would. for the concert.

i love extra practices bwahahah. no i'm joking. early in the morning when i'm like still half awake and kena dragged to lt to prac is kinda torturing.. but then again. it's kinda fun when there's only the few of us early in the morning in the lt. like oh my the whole lt's ours! okay nvm i'm not making sense.

it's like ny when we prac during recess and the whole world starred at us like we're monsters and ppl who are trying to study at the benches kept glaring at us and my classmates keep asking me why we only play two songs -_-'' haha. and it's these pracs that kept us together and more bonded than before (:
and yes. those pracs were thanks to wenqi too. hahaha like the ones here.

first time blogging leh, so nervous ! haha -__-

ehs, i dunno wads everyone (xyz) 's impression of me lar, (those who din know me) coz i haven been around for the 1st 3 mths and yea...

so i always mixed around with snr and chinese high ppl lar. den sometimes felt a bit left out also. but i am trying to know more about everyone so da jia, must talk to me, cannot dao ok? =)

anyways, thats enough abt myself le. ningfei always asked me to blog blog blog here. i kinda promised him i will. and i never break any promise i made for him before.

personally, i find the outing veh enjoyable, how bout u guys? at least i talked to some ppl i almost nv talked to. i er.... squeezed with many ppl around a small bbq pit and fan and blow the charcoal and sweat like dunno wad. i made marshmellow for kaiying and...si heng? haha its damn nice right? toldya.

honestly, in terms of actuall bbqing, i think this bbq like quite a failure. but in terms of fun and bonding, its really not bad. i hope everyone enjoyed it as much as i did.

ahem, if yall din notice hor, ningfei was missing for quite a few times. haha... so black alr, go missing at west coast at night, really can find him lar. he haven told me why he moody, i think he will tell me someone ditched him lar. so after i find out who den i'll post it on the blog =D!

hmm, concert is coming, in my opinion, our standard is still far far far far far from making it. so da jia, lets put in a little more effort than we usually do, and plus our unlimited intelligence, we CONFIRM CHOP CHOP BOM BEE BEE can make it for the concert and shock the whole co arena in spore *nod nod*

ok tis sat's outing rite...sectionals we nid to marinate chicken. so yaa i think nid to meet earlier or sth. cos if wwann delicious chicken wings mus let the sauce get thru to the flesh wat. errr haven found ani homes of xy peeps to marinate yet...anione wana volunteer?? we meet around ...12pm? den go nearby ntuc to buy all the stuff...including the other food assigned to us.hm...bring as mani fun things as u wan k like volleyball! soccerball! frisbee! cards!!! anithing tt can play la.yyupp.den go tis guy's house to prepare the food n such...den stay until like 3.30 den chiong to west coast!go there mayb play intersectional captain's cabbage!! hehx thrash the other sections! den bbq n tok cok. at night mayb play sth nice tgther as a co!!

how's everyone doing? everyone tt stil bothers about this blog. life mus be damn tough for the j2s, esp those wif responsibilities anywhere..j2 life simply = hell. eveone has his or her own probs, its universal lo..or rather, unisingaporeal.

i think the ans to alot of probs, can be found around us, n not within. tts y i always believe in a team.

the coming month, will be tough for the pple in other jc co. so mani concerts.i even haf to wonder whether i shld cut down my eating expenses jus to save up for all the concerts.y i go so mani concerts? to me, concerts are results of hard work, from diff pple. diff pple come tgther ...n make miracles. it would be a pity for one to miss these miracles...in a concert, the hard work behind all of it would be buried by time, the listener onli gets to appreciate the whole packaged product, the music.i think, one mus learn to listen carefully, bcos wats impt is not the music played on stage, but tt which is sounded backstage...

How have you guys been? I guess it's quite some time since I last saw you guys. Especially the J1s, hope you guys have lots of fun in both CO and HC herself. Then to the J2s, block test is over for quite some time already right? Hope you all have met your expectations and even if you have not, just keep trying. =P

Hmm...How's the concert preparation so far? Must 马不停蹄地 practise ok, because it's like only just last than 10 weeks to June 4th(Opps, I shouldn't remind you guys that). I really look forward to the performance, and see you guys showcasing yourself on stage. =)

Anyway, in case you guys don't know, I'm at Nee Soon Camp now training to be a professional medic(or otherwise known as Level 1 Paramedic). Life there is quite good and there's quite a lot of free time to spare at night, just that there's hell lots of biology stuff to study and memorise(grr..I hate memorising things). And the highlight there is that I get to have a weekly poking session on other people using a yakault straw size needle(though I get poked myself too). Honestly, if you are sadistic enough, it's quite fun actually(opps!). So now I know one more way to poke people, other than using fingers(so you better don't provoke me). Xp Perhaps, next time if CO have any events, I can be the standby first aider in the event. Xp Or perhaps you get to see me in action on TV during NDP or some overseas missions(even better than doing OCIP =P).

hey juniors! i'm back to blog again! anyway.. juz 2 more months to concert.. so everyone must jiayou k? and also, j1s ar... muz listen to nf and other seniors k.. muz guai guai and dun be too noisy!!! and j2s=) muz show gd eg to our little juniors.. heard tt u all have not decide on a xianyue xiaozhu piece for concert.. perhaps u all can have a discussion, do some research (like nf) and make some suggestions? everyone has a part to play!! i'm so looking forward to the concert.. i'm sure u all will do a great job..
