How ComE No OnE BlOgs!

heya eveyone!liyu here. ive got one big burning question! How come no one blogs on xyz blog!?? its not like you all are out ta school or something=P i was super shocked to see the blog in such a -stagnant- mode...where are all my enthu jnrs eh?=P

alritey...shall just blog on wad ive been doing and hope some kind soul will update the blog on wads happening in hccoxyz/ hcco?=) wel, so far, ive been doing volunteer work with Youth Challenge. Its a non-governmental organisation, and we plan MANY activities for the elderly poor. So we get to call up the big companies and ask them for sponsorship and subsequently we get to organise tours and outings, distributions and activities for the elderly who really get thrilled when they can get out of their one-room accomodation and sometimes, just some people who will visit them.

Today, we brought 40 elderly to Mandai Orchid Farm and Bollywood Veggies. The orchid farm was REALLY beauutiful. Maving many different orchids all basking and blooming under the morning sun was such a sight. Unfortunately, the elderly got a bit tired of walking on the terraces to shang1 hua1. When we were close to leaving, each elderly happily received a beautiful bouquet of orchids sponsored by the farm. Its really damn nice~ The generosity of the farm's management really made our day=P Following that we had a tour at bollywood veggies, a veggie farm. Firstly we had this really healthy Vegetarian lunch that they loved and subsequently, we toured the farm. Some of the elderly were so excited about seeing the plants/veggies that they used to grow in their attap homes and the leaves veggies that they used to feed the PIGS they reared. Some even shared stories of having to da2 shui3 from the wells and having to carry the water all the way up the hill=)Can you imagine it? Their average age is 80 and they had gone through so many different stages of singapore that we could have never imagined. I cant help thinking how could pampered teens like us can possibly survived under circumstances of their younger days.

Yeps so thats just one of the activity we have been doing so far. Theres one bigger event coming up, a steamboat dinner for 250 elderly next fri and im really looking forward to it!=)
